Vietnam – My Pride
Of course, everyone carries within them a love for their homeland and a sense of pride passed down through generations, deeply ingrained in their blood and bones. You may not be sincere with your friends — that is betrayal. You may not love and honor your parents — that is unfilial. But if you dare to speak malicious and immoral words that show dissatisfaction and insult a nation — no matter which country — then that is a grave sin, an insult to an entire people and to your own life.
When foreigners ask about Vietnam, I cannot be sure they fully understand our people, our struggles, or even the simple location of this beautiful country. That is why I am writing this blog. Please consider it a form of entertainment that helps you feel happier, think more positively, and realize that life across every continent shares many similarities — especially love for one’s country and love for our fellow countrymen.
Yes, you may not know this yet: Our Vietnam is not as vast as Russia, does not possess as many weapons as America, and is not a global leader in technology like Japan or China. But we have defeated America, France, and even China in the past.
You might ask, “It’s old history — why keep bringing it up?” Oh, you don’t fully understand. To us, it is not just history — it is life itself, the blood and tears of our ancestors.
To our American friends: We do not bring up the past to criticize or belittle you. We have always admired the strength of your country. While you take pride in your modern weapons, we take pride in our own nation — a place where even an orphan child traveling far from home will always have “family” waiting.
Why? Because every one of us carries Vietnamese blood in our veins. That is our greatest weapon — it is the spirit of unity.
We are very frugal. At the market, we often haggle over every single dong. But if any Vietnamese citizen calls for help, we never hesitate to give generously. We do not give money to show off our wealth or make others suffer. We give because we want them to live and to continue being our brothers and sisters. That is the sincere heart we offer.
We may not stand above everyone, but we are not beneath anyone either. We have a heroic past, a glorious history, and a bright future. We have stunning landscapes, talented people, rich natural resources, and steadily developing technology. We have the tireless efforts of everyone from children to the elderly, the unity between civilians and soldiers, and the trust and support of the people for the Party.
We love peace. We are proud because the Vietnamese blood is still surging and beating strongly in our hearts. We love even those who do not share the same bloodline with us. We always know how to express our patriotism in the most respectful and meaningful way.
Come to Vietnam — you will meet your dearest family.
I am forever proud and forever deeply grateful to my Motherland.
